Overall things have slowed down over the summer in chapters after a very busy spring. However, that is all about to change! Chapters across the USA are starting to make plans for fall. What’s happening in your area?
Cascade
Cascade hosted two successful PI Network events, with another coming up on August 7, Storytelling: Practical tools to elevate public discourse. This event will showcase storytelling as a useful approach, featuring tools public involvement practitioners can use to center community voice through story. Participants will discuss some of their own experiences using story in community engagement, and leave with practical ideas and inspiration gathered from collective wisdom. This event is eligible for APA AICP CM credit.
Colorado Chapter:
Everyone fails; It’s a fact of life. Whether you drift gracefully from the top, or fall down like a ton of bricks, there is always something valuable to take away. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off for a fail fest with the Colorado Chapter fall! More details on time and location to come at a future date, but keep your eyes peeled!
Greater LA:
The Greater LA Chapter is enjoying some fun in the California sun and taking a breather over the summer. They plan to resume regular programming this fall! Stay tuned!
Intermountain:
The Intermountain Chapter is working on a Local Scholarship Program for students going into P2! They are working hard to expand relationships with Universities in their vast chapter area, with special interest in working with students in P2. Stay tuned to learn more.
Midwest:
The Midwest Chapter has experienced some great wins in the recent past, having successfully hosted their Regional Chapter Conference in St. Louis, to hosting a IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation series in Minneapolis. They are enjoying increases in participation across the Great Plains and are looking forward to hosting trainings and regional networking events in the future.
